How AI Will Put Humanity Back to Work | Conference Hall

Ever-improving Artificial Intelligence (AI) and stubbornly resistant systemic bias is quickly turning human capital into a toxic asset. Technology is changing faster than culture, and many of the jobs available today will soon be radically de-professionalized by automation and AI. How can society and the players in the gig economy and workforce solutions ecosystem adapt to this change? How do professionals maintain their value in this ever-developing technological climate?

Theoretical neuroscientist and technologist, Dr. Vivienne Ming, has devoted her life to researching human potential. Her research, which spans early-education learning science to professional development, lays out clear proof that the skills we traditionally value are not only doomed to be outdated by technological advances but historically haven't played any part in the success of the human race. Dr. Ming will explore what skills do play an important role in maximizing, and even predicting, a person's potential and how we can begin developing these skills in the workers of the gig economy. Dr. Ming was named one of 10 Women to Watch in Tech by Inc. Magazine, she is a theoretical neuroscientist, entrepreneur, and author. Dr. Ming launched Socos Labs, her fifth company, to combine her varied work with that of other creative experts and expand their impact on global policy issues, both inside companies and throughout our communities. Previously, Dr. Ming was chief scientist at Gild, an innovative startup that applies machine learning to predict optimal candidates for technology jobs and to bring meritocracy to job markets.
