Singaporeans use more than five digital services when looking for jobs; 99% of them expect organisations to provide a seamless digital experience
Cisco AppDynamics has shared its latest findings on talent acquisition from over 12,000 job seekers in 12 countries worldwide, including Singapore. And results reveal the importance that job seekers are attaching to digital experiences.
When looking for a job or applying for a new one, Singaporeans use an average of 5.6 digital services. And their preferences go to job sites (76%), followed by social media (56%), and company websites (55%).
The research also reveals that expectations for digital experiences have soared over the past few years as people increasingly rely on the convenience and flexibility that applications can provide in almost every aspect of their lives. In an intensely competitive labor market, there are no second chances for employers – the first sign of a problem when using an application or digital services and many job seekers will immediately walk away.
99% of Singapore respondents believe it is important that applications and digital services they use when looking for and applying for jobs provide a fast and seamless experience, without any delays or disruption. If an employer offers a seamless digital experience, 45% of Singaporeans would be more likely to choose that employer. Astonishingly, 73% of respondents would be put off working for a company if their digital services failed to perform when applying for a job.
Other key Singapore-related takeaways from the report include:
- 62% of Singapore respondents are likely to look for a new job in the next 12 months.
- 68% of Singapore respondents are likely to research a potential employer in the next 12 months.
- 29% of Singaporeans would use applications and digital services several times a week to explore new job opportunities, higher than the APAC average (25%).
- 86% of Singapore respondents want to work for employers that provide brilliant, seamless digital experiences throughout the recruitment process.
- 79% of Singapore respondents would feel anxious or angry if the applications and digital services they use to find and apply for jobs fail to perform.
